The
National Institutes of Health - Lenticular and Hologram Client Services
This image may not look like much to the layperson but it is an actual
photograph of two cells fusing together.
The National Institutes of Health came to us and requested that we
take the image and make it into a 3D lenticular for a proposed cover
of a medical journal. By adding depth to the image, lenticular printing
made it both more life like and more eye-catching.
We took the photograph that was given to us by the NIH and created
a new background in Photoshop. We then created separate layers for
the background, cell one, the bulk of cell two and finally the outer
edge of cell two.
We then interlaced those layers together into one file. That file
was printed onto the lenticular material with the lines running vertically.
The result is that the lens shows one layer to the viewer's left eye
while the right eye is seeing the next layer. The difference between
what the left eye sees and the right eye sees creates an illusion
of depth.
Whether your subject matter is human cells or cellular phones, lenticular
can enhance your message and draw attention. Back
